RoboTech, the eighties classic that got old geezers like me into japanese animation, is set to make a return with a new anime called The Shadow Chronicles. There’s not a lot of information up for it yet, but the trailer looks fairly interesting.

The original US series titled RoboTech was actually a combination of several Japanese series, including Macross. This was done to satisfy US networks requirements for episode lengths for a series at the time. This new release seems to be completely original, and combines both 2D cel art and 3D CG art. The official site is still a little sparse on details, but it looks like this may end up as a direct to DVD release.
