Interview with the man behind the Afro Samurai series

UGO has a nice interview with the exec that brought Afro Samurai to the small screen. Eric Calderon used to be a MTV animation executive. Now he has the lofty title of Vice-President of Creative Affairs for GDH International, which owns a little studio that you may have heard of called Gonzo. The interview focuses on how the series started from an obscure manga in Japan to a network hit starring Samuel L. Jackson.

The thing that I found most interesting about the interview was how this guy actively sought out the original creator of the manga, Takashi Okazaki, and worked out the beginnings of the show.
