Japanese travel companies are cashing in on anime

Opodo, a British travel site, has an article up about how anime is serving as a new income generator for travel/tourist agencies. Come to Tokyo and we’ll take you to Akihabara and buy massive amounts of genuine anime swag!

From the article:

‘A lot of airline companies and travel agencies now are making tour packages to bring you to Japan and take you to Akihabara for the day to just let you go out and buy whatever your want,’ said Adrian Lozano, a volunteer tour guide.
